Gallery ABBA invites you to 'Junkanoo' by artist Ebony Miller. This show is a collection of eye-catching paintings and photographs that capture the essence of Junkanoo, a festival annually held in the Bahamas.
Come to Gallery ABBA on Friday, March 22nd from 5 to 8pm to meet the artist and enjoy light refreshments. All artwork will be for sale. Gallery ABBA is located at 437 Grand Ave, across from the bookstore.
Through the artwork, the artist attempts to capture the spirit of those that partake in the festival through vivid facial expressions and the use of vibrant colors, which are often seen in the costumes. Additionally, the pieces are created in different styles to mimic the festival's versatility.

"Happy Birthday, Marsha!" Short Film Viewing

"Happy Birthday, Marsha!" is a short film about the life of the iconic transgender artist and activist Marsha P. Johnson and her life in the hours before she ignited the 1969 Stonewall Riots in New York City. The film lasts approximately 13 minutes and will be precluded by a brief introduction about Marsha's life and impact on the LGBTQ rights movement.
